Leaflet printing has exploded in popularity in the past couple of years, with millions of people using the technology to print out the text on their own.
While some have criticized the process as overly laborious and even illegal, others have found their way onto the app store.
A few months ago, one user named Kjell Hagen took to the app to complain about how he was constantly receiving “unnecessary and rude” emails about the app.
In response, he added that he had no idea how to set up a print job.
“I’ve tried to set it up with a paperclip and then with a ruler but I still get the same email,” Hagen told Business Insider.
“This is a new way to create an image.”
A couple weeks later, a new app called Leaflet Paper has been released.
Like many other apps, it lets you create a new image on a paper clip and print it out.
The app includes a “create” button that allows you to set a number of images and colors.
For now, there are only two available for print: black and white, though the company plans to expand the service in the future.
Leaflet paper has already attracted more than one million downloads in just the first two weeks of release.
The app’s creators have also created a video that shows how to create a paper-to-paper image, and it’s currently available for free on YouTube.
“We are excited to offer a platform for creative entrepreneurs and artists to showcase their skills and share their unique and creative work,” Leaflet cofounder Chris McGlothlin told Business 360.
“Our goal is to make it easy for people to make and share the most beautiful images, regardless of the technology used.”
The company says it has received hundreds of thousands of responses to its leaflet app and has so far had more than 100,000 downloads, and the company has plans to make its service available in a handful of countries in the near future.
